    Great question–Joseph Pilates wanted you to breathe naturally while you work so you can carry on a conversation without gasping for air. There are only a few exercises that he told you how to breathe for, like ‘Backstroke’ on the Reformer or ‘Double Leg Stretch’ on the Mat. If have trouble remembering to breathe (most of us do!), try starting the exercise with an inhale and then exhale during the hardest part. This will help you engage your Powerhouse.
